About me.

Hello, my name is Brenda Elizabeth Allen and welcome to BEAM wellness. First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to review my work, and learn a little about me. I was born and raised in Napa, California and in 2016 moved to Charleston, South Carolina to pursue a career in finance. It was here that I had a life changing car accident that left me with chronic pain, and seemingly no relief, until I found massage therapy. Watching what massage therapy could do to transform my pain and life is what sparked a new found passion in me to pursue a career in it.

In 2017 I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to study massage therapy at Southeastern Institute. During my massage therapy schooling I also studied Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and mixed martial arts (which I practiced in Charleston). Upon graduating, I competed in a triathlon and then pursued body building as a figure competitor. It has been these specific endeavors, combined with my schooling, that has provided me with extensive knowledge of biodynamic movements and a hands-on comprehension of the muscular system. As well, the following four years spent at a well-regarded chiropractic office gave me additional insight on how these different components effect one’s overall health and wellbeing.

Some call me a nerd, but I am extremely passionate about the kinetic chain, functional movement, and the optimization of structural movement. I focus on the utilization of neuromuscular work through trigger point release, myofascial release, and sports massage; and my work focuses on intentionally addressing postural deviations of the kinetic chain vs. soft tissue manipulations. So if you are looking to identify the root causes of your pain, and combat them together with well planned and intentional work, then “Brenda Elizabeth Allen” Muscular Wellness is your place.
